CosCure Cards
It’s now the trend! Cosplayers who have a Cosplayer’s Cure (above photo) accounts, give these out to other cosplayers to keep in contact after an eventful convention happening in their local and international community. According to my source, the fad started in Japan (I also heard Kaname has a business card with his cure ID number) and it grew nation-wide through out cosplayers in Asia.
Unfortunately for me, I have only starting seeing some cosplayers exchange cards in our local community during last Cosplay Mania X, when Jesuke from Singapore came to attend it. I wasn’t able to get one myself, but I did have pictures with her.

*ahem* But back to the topic.. now with that happening, it has been going around like honey attracts bees. First, it was just a matter of exchanging cards. Now fans are labeling some cards of their favorite cosplay idols as RARE cards. How do we define rare? Well, the cosplayer themselves defines it. Let me give you an example..
I personally declare these as my RARE CARDS, for two reasons:
1) I don’t wear these costumes anymore
2) I consider them my most valuable cosplays
They are that important to me that I only printed 2 copies each card and gave them out last 10th Toys & Hobbies Convention. Only four cards left! For a small surprise, I also have my signature with a kitty face at the back of these cards. So if you are one who has that signature, then you’re lucky because I don’t have any on my other regular cards hehe!
Fun isn’t it? Now I realized they are different kinds of cards. Some cosplayers print one card with multiple cosplays in them. While others print only one cosplay per card. There are reasons:
1) Card with multiple cosplays – PROS: It’s like a cosplayer resume in one, you get to see all of his/her cosplays like a photo gallery. CON: The photos will sadly clash with the very information you are trying to present in that card (cure#, email, website, etc).
2) Card with a single cosplay – PROS: It gives more space for both your image and your text. The information won’t be hard to read. CONS: You will print more than this to give out for everyone who wants the same character.
I was told that number 2 is the correct way of making a card. Although the business of printing it more than once might consume the money in your wallet, at least your friends/fans will now look forward to collecting different photos of your cosplays.
So every time I hear that another event is coming very soon, I get excited to see my friends and their new cards so we can exchange.. as well as for those who come and visit from abroad.
Let’s try it! Thanks to Zenith-chan, there is a template for you to start on (it’s 300dpi file). IT’S FUN, even photographers are doing it! In respect to the cosplayers, they give their own business cards (not CureCos) to inform the subjects where to get the pictures should they ask for it. Photographers also exchange cards with other photographers in hopes of sharing similar interests and keep in contact with.
I hope to exchange with you soon, these are the Regular Cards I still have:
Also do add me up in CosCure if you have an account~!

oooh, i should make one too ;3
though i do print my photo on my shop’s calling cards
) does that count too? XDDDDDDDD
though they usually run out before a con ends since its just sitting on top of the booth table for picking xDDD
well the ones you have on ur booth is your official business cards.. that’s not exactly a CureCos card, unless you have an actual account in CureCos. If you dont have one, why not make one now? It’s just like deviantART but exclusively for cosplayers worldwide!
